CAREER ACHIEVEMENT IN ACTING AWARD:
Vaneesa Redgrave
The Hamptons International Film Festival is proud to honor Vanessa Redgrave
with this year's Golden Starfish Award for Career Achievement in Acting.
Moving effortlessly between the film, the stage and television, Ms. Redgrave continues to infuse each role she chooses with an uncompromising intelligence and uncommon emotional depth. She has consistently appeared in groundbreaking works by internationally-renowned directors, including Michelangelo Antonioni's BLOWUP, Ken Russell's THE DEVILS, Tony Richardson's THE CHARGE OF THE LIGHT BRIGADE and Stephen Frears' PRICK UP YOUR EARS, and has won popular acclaim for her appearances in films such as CAMELOT, A MAN FOR ALL SEASONS, HOWARD'S END and MRS. DALLOWAY.
While she is perhaps best known for her Academy Award-winning role as the titular character in JULIA, the numerous accolades she has garnered over the decades merely hint at the breadth of her impressive career: six Oscar nominations, the first to be named Best Actress twice at the Cannes Film Festival, and the recipient of Emmy, SAG, Golden Globe, and Tony Awards, to name only a few. The Hamptons International Film Festival is proud to join these esteemed institutions in honoring Ms. Redgrave's singular contributions. Join us as we celebrate this legendary actress with the World Premiere of her newest film SHELL SEEKERS, as well as in our annual "A Conversation with." discussion series
